CLISSMANN'S HORSE DRAWN CARAVANS PROMOTE WICKLOW IN EUROPE!

Mary and Neasa Clissmann of Clissmann’s Horse Caravan and Donkey Walking Holidays have been promoting their business, as well as Co. Wicklow and the Eastern and Midlands Region at a number of major European tourist events this month.

Mary Clissmann represented the Eastern and Midlands Region at the Salon International du Tourisme in Rennes. The show was a great success, with over 39,000 visitors recorded over the two-day event.

Out of the 440 exhibition stands featured at the event, it was Ireland that claimed the prestigious ‘Meilleur Acceuil’ prize, the stand with the Best Welcome to Visitors.

Meanwhile, Neasa Clissmann attended the Holiday Fair in Brussels from the 4th to the 8th February on behalf of Clissmann Horse Caravan Holidays. Over 112,000 visitors attended the fair. Belgium was the only European country that had an increase in visitor numbers to Ireland in 2009, with a 7% rise in Belgian visitors.

During the event, Neasa met with film producers from Belgian TV who will be in Wicklow in July to make a short film on Clissmann Horse Drawn Caravan Holidays. A well-known Belgian actor and his family will take part in the film, ensuring even greater exposure of Wicklow in Belgium. In May, to Belgian journalists will also take a Horse Caravan trip and this will be featured in a variety of Belgian newspapers and magazines.

Neasa Clissmann will also be attending the F.R.E.E. Munich Trade Fair and the ITB in Berlin in the coming days. At the event in Munich Neasa will host a table of journalists for a special press night.

Clissmann Horse Caravans will be opening their brand new tourism centre at their new location at Cronybyrne, Rathdrum in the late spring.
